Linen is a fabric I am quite fond of. It’s delicate yet durable. Gentle but a statement. A light fabric for summer but not flimsy. I don’t own many things in linen, but lately after seeing a few gorgeous linen dresses in my Instagram feed (see here and here), I was determined to get one.
More and more I think fast fashion is turning to slow fashion and people are wanting to own more durable clothing.
I love it when you are casually browsing stores, not looking for anything in particular, but then stumble upon a statement basic. I found this dress at one of my favourite little boutiques in Manly, and the moment I set eyes on it, I knew I had to have it.
They only had one left in my size, and the fit was perfect. Being somewhat tall, I often find a lot of dresses are too short for me. It’s nice when something falls and hangs on your body in the way you want it to, particularly when it cinches in at the waist.
I’m big on basics and nothing makes me happier then finding a basic dress but with beautiful detailing. It makes the item unique and I’m likely to keep it for longer. I love the fringe detailing on this dress, alongside the delicate navy and gold lining. The back is also open which gives you that summery touch.
I’ll definitely be wearing this dress to both casual and social events this Christmas summer season.

I love this dress and the photos are beautiful! I am the same – I prefer basic clothing. Rarely will I go for anything with pattern. 🙂
So glad you understand! I’m such a basic girl but it makes getting dressed everyday that much easier 🙂
