Today marks exactly three years of blogging. Funnily enough it lands on my husband’s birthday – before I even knew he existed! It hasn’t always be Golden Hour Girl. It took a while for me to figure out the direction of this blog. At the start it was a place for me to vent out my thoughts on life & experiences I had endured.
It quickly turned to an avenue to keep in touch with family and friends when I ventured to the other side of the world and lived in London for six months. About three months into that adventure fate had its way and I somehow won a blogging competition through Mango Fashion which meant I was flown to Barcelona, Spain for an incredible couple of days spent in the company of international fashion and travel bloggers such as Sincerely Jules and Gary Pepper Girl. Golden Hour Girl continues to be a travel, dreaming and photography blog. With three years of content, GHG grows in terms of available travel advice, photography from around the world, fashion styles and a reflection on the adventures that life brings. It doesn’t promise that life is 100% happiness but it looks at the world through vivid coloured glasses. GHG pauses to reflect on the small yet beautiful things in life and encourages everyone to wander and be amazed by the world around you.
In the spirit of great memories I have pulled together my photographs from our recent trip to Hamilton Island. On our first full day there we rushed to the Great Barrier Reef on a day trip with The Explore Group (You can see the details of our trip here). I love that the Great Barrier Reef is a short trip from Sydney and is a place that will make you feel miles away. This was my second visit to the reef and I was still completely mesmerised. This time around we snorkelled but I would really love to try out diving sometime!
