New York was everything and more. Two sweet weeks of wondering and exploring all sides of the city. We stayed all across Manhattan including the Upper West side, Midtown and Downtown. I’m happy to say I ticked off everything on my bucket list with the highlight being sunset at the top of the Rockefeller Centre.

Before I bombard you with in depth travel tips and a recount of our two week trip to NYC I thought I would share some of our highlights from the trip.

Last Days Of Autumn

We are currently in the midst of winter in Sydney. Looking back on these photos I shot with my friend Grant (https://www.facebook.com/GrantAngusPhotography) makes Autumn feel like a long time ago. We did this shoot on a Sunday afternoon at sunset, at one of my favourite beaches nearby home.

I love how Grant captured everything in these photos – the frothy sea, the sky turning purple, the warmth of the sun, the soft sand…

Looking forward to Spring and longer days in the sun!

Vogue Fashion’s Night Out

The world’s biggest fashion shopping event hosted in more then 15 cities around the world, Vogue Fashion’s Night out is an event every fashionista should attend.

This year I attended the Sydney event featuring pop up stands, freebies and fashion entertainment throughout Martin Place and Pitt Street Mall- in particular the incredible runway and entertainment held throughout David Jones.

So what to expect?

– Stores such as Burberry, Chanel, Calvin Klein, Karen Millen, Cue, Gucci, Miu Miu, Mulberry… the list goes on… giving out free champagne glasses, ice cream and cocktails out the front of stores

– Fairy floss, pop up events, bloggers and stylists

– 5 hours of great shopping and socialising

– Great discounts and deals on clothing and shoes

This year Gary Pepper Girl aka Nicole Warne attended as the Westfield spokesperson. There was a private function held outside the entry to Westfield  with a limousine parked in front. Male models invited girls to jump in and grab a photo. Stores were photographing many of their customers happily shopping with a champagne glass in hand and bags of newly bought clothes, shoes and jewellery- it was a happy place to be!

After spending a few days in Barcelona thanks to Mango Fashion with Nicole Warne, it was great to catch up and speak with her at the event. It’s so encouraging hearing how passionate she is for what she does and how someone can keep their humbleness throughout all the publicity.

Megan Gale also hosted a runway show in David Jones featuring the new range of swimwear from Jets for the upcoming Australian summer. I loved every piece to bits! Lots of floral, pastels and black and white looks- I can’t wait to try one out!

This year I decided to go in in all black- one of the latest trends this season. My Sass and Bide dress paired with my black Gucci tote bag and simple black ankle boots was the comfiest outfit for the occasion. Other trends to look out for this season include:

– Floral and tropical prints

– Cobalt blues

– Black and white prints

– Pastels- in particular violets

– Orange!

– All white

What trend are you most looking forward to trying out this season?

Here are some pictures from the event. Enjoy!
