In case you haven’t heard in just 3 short weeks I am heading off on a 6 week Europe trip and could not be happier or more excited about it! This will be my first time back since I left 5 years ago after studying in London for half a year (you can read about it here) and close to when I first started this blog in 2012. Linen is a fabric I am quite fond of. It’s delicate yet durable. Gentle but a statement. A light fabric for summer but not flimsy. I don’t own many things in linen, but lately after seeing a few gorgeous linen dresses in my Instagram feed (see here and here), I was determined to get one. Continue reading Linen Love
Tropical holidays are my favourite. Anywhere where the sun is shining, the days are long, the skies are blue and the salt fills the air – I’m there! You may have recently seen on my Instagram we traveled to New Caledonia for a family holiday. This time we traveled with my husbands side of the family – all 9 of us. It was a wild adventure full of memories. Continue reading New Caledonia Top Moments
Hola friends! Wow what a week it has been. If you’ve been following along on Insta (@goldenhourgirl) and Snapchat (@adrianajennings) you would have seen that we embarked on a road trip to Byron.
Byron is one of our all time favourite places to venture to in the summertime here in Australia. It’s a 9 hour drive from Sydney and with incredible beaches, the hinterland, rainforests, cafes, shops, vibrant people, spectacular weather… you can’t be bored!
For me, Byron is a place that resets me. It gets hubby and I ready for the year ahead. Refreshed, excited and active. We love visiting end of January / early February when the crowds have calmed a bit but the weather is still warm and sunny.
There’s something about the natural beauty of Australia that gets me every time. I feel so connected to our natural landscapes and animals. If you’ve never been, go. As I can’t put into words the way Byron makes you feel.
Here are some of our favourite moments from our one week getaway:
Sunset at The Pass
Greek details at Rae’s on Wategos
Sunset at The Pass, my all time favourite
Killen Falls in Byron’s hinterland
Underneath the falls felt incredible
Pretty floor details at Newrybar Merchants
Dreaming up my home – Newrybar Merchants
Healthy breakfasts at The Belongil
Cape Byron views
Early morning breakfasts
Quiet mornings at Belongil Beach
A summer dream.

Thought I would share with you an update from Byron Bay, the eastern most tip of Australia. We are currently up here over the Australia Day long weekend, and my goodness it is pure magic!
Luckily the weather has been pretty darn good for the majority of it. Sometimes around this time of the year, the extreme hot weather can result in afternoon rain and storms. Majority of days have been around 28 degrees Celsius, and we’ve only had one burst of rain.
We flew up here so we don’t have a car, meaning lots of bike rides! I’m counting it as my exercise. Our primary mode of transport being bikes has actually been a blessing in disguise. It’s made us slow down, see more and really appreciate the natural beauty of Byron.
I visited The Pass yesterday for the first time and was amazed. Due to the aspect of this surf break, you get lines and lines of perfect waves. It was super busy but so nice to watch everyone enjoying the surf, whether it was their first time or their local spot.
I think the best thing about Byron is just how intune everyone is with nature and the ways of the sea. Everything here seems to revolve around daylight hours, surf breaks, wind patterns and the sun. I love it! Sunset beach sessions all the way.
We are currently staying on Belongil beach which is nice being a little tucked away from the main town. As I’ve always said about travel, it’s nice to see a place the way locals do.
Where are you spending your start of the year vacay?
